ASR is delighted to announce its partnership with Invest Africa in its upcoming Zambia Investor and Trade Mission, 20-23 March 2023. Approximately 20 delegates from various sectors are expected to attend, including banks, multilaterals, private equity, international and regional African businesses and entrepreneurs.

The event will feature briefings with H.E. President Hichilema, Ministers, the Central Bank Governor and the Zambian Development Agency. ASR will actively participate in the agenda, including participating as a panellist in the pre-event webinar and will chair a number of sessions, such as those focused on Public-Private Dialogue and Private Sector Project Briefings.

Mikir Shah, CEO of ASR commented: “Zambia sits in ASR’s top third percentile of country exposures across Africa. We have supported various business activities in the country by providing risk-mitigating insurance coverage for energy projects, farmer input programs, copper mines, and manufacturing companies to name a few through our energy, liability, property, political violence and terrorism and parametric insurance lines.

“Zambia, being Africa’s second-largest copper producer, is well-positioned to capitalise on the global drive for metals critical to green energy transitions. Along with mining, Zambia enjoys strong farming and tourism industries, all of which are contributing to a robust improvement in GDP.”

Karen Taylor, CEO of Africa Invest, commented: “Investor and trade missions are a key part of Invest Africa’s activities and we are delighted to confirm this strategic partnership with Africa Specialty Risks for our upcoming Mission to Zambia. As partners, ASR and Invest Africa are aligned in our objectives to provide comprehensive investment and trade support and solutions to local and global organisations across the African continent.”
