Ilyas Ismail is Chief Risk Officer at Africa Specialty Risks with over 20 years of finance, compliance and risk management experience covering emerging markets, including Africa. 

Prior to joining ASR, Ilyas was Chief Risk and Compliance Officer at AXA Africa Specialty Risks. An advocate for utilising his strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships at all levels of ASR, Ilyas also spent over 12 years at Lloyd’s, where he was Global Markets Corporate Governance and Risk Manager as well as a Director at Lloyd’s South Africa. 

Ilyas is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
